Private Pilot Requirements (no prior experience)
- At least 17 years of age
- 40 hours of flight time
- 20 hours of flight training with an instructor including
- 3 hours of cross country training
- 3 hours night flight training including 10 takeoffs and landings and one cross-country of 50nm or more
- 3 hours training in preparation for practical test within 2 calendar months before exam
- 10 hours of solo flight including
- 3 hours cross country flight
- 1 solo cross country flight of 100nm total distance, landings at 3 points, one segment greater than 25nm
- 3 takeoffs and landings at airport with an operating control tower
- Pass the FAA knowledge examination
- Pass the practical exam with a flight examiner
Private Pilot Add-On Rating
