Private Pilot Requirements (no prior experience)

• At least 16 years of age
• 10 hours of flight time in a glider, including at least 20 total glider flights
• 2 hours of solo flight time in a glider
• 3 training flights with an instructor within 2 months of practical exam
• Pass the FAA knowledge examination
• Pass the practical exam with a flight examiner

Private Pilot Requirements (with at least 40 hours in heavier-than-air aircraft)

• At least 16 years of age
• 3 hours of flight time in a glider
• 10 solo flights in a glider
• 3 training flights with an instructor within 2 months of practical exam
• Pass the practical exam with a flight examiner

Commercial Pilot Requirements (with less than 200 hours in heavier-than-air aircraft)

• At least 18 years of age
• 25 hours flight time in a glider, including 100 flights as PIC
• 3 hours training in a glider, or 10 training flights, including at least 3 training flights with an instructor within 2 months of practical exam
• 2 hours solo flight, including 10 solo flights
• Pass the practical exam with a flight examiner

Commercial Pilot Requirements (with at least 200 hours in heavier-than-air aircraft)

• At least 18 years of age
• 20 flights in a glider as PIC
• 3 hours of training in a glider, including 3 training flights with an instructor within 2 months of practical exam
• 5 solo flights in a glider
• Pass the practical exam with a flight examiner
